Chris Black

Chris has been in and around the golf industry since age 12.  Starting from the ground up, he currently operates two nine-hole facilities in Iowa. Along the road, he played competitively on several mini tours and has played in the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic.  Chris still loves to compete in weekly Iowa PGA Section events, as well as other tournaments throughout the year.
Studying the golf swing, the mental side of golf, and techniques to help his students improve is a lifelong passion for Chris.  Over 60 of his junior golf students have gone on to play collegiate golf. Chris coaches two competitive PGA Jr league teams in Iowa.  He is also the assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams at Upper Iowa University.
Chris does not use a “one size fits all” philosophy when it comes to his students.  He’s had the privilege of learning from many different world class instructors over his career, who all shared different concepts and ideas.  Through those encounters, he believes that there are many ways to play this great game.  He looks forward to helping you discover YOUR way!  Chris is excited to be teaching in the southwest this winter with his daughter, Mackenzie, and looks forward to meeting new people and helping them enjoy golf to the fullest.
