My name is Mackenzie Tucker and I would like to share my story with you.

I grew up in Independence, Iowa, with a very supportive family. My dad, Chris, is a great golfer, who had a lot of success playing on mini tours and other professional events as I was growing up, and is still a great competitor now. My mom, Jennifer, has also always been a great player and an even better supporter for both my father and my dreams. My parents currently own/manage two nine-hole courses in Northeast Iowa. When they acquired the first course, I was seven years old and would go to work with my dad every day. I was very fortunate to have grown up around great players, and have full access to a golf course to learn and practice. I was shown the importance of hard work through many different avenues. I played all kinds of sports through high school and have always loved competition. Yet, golf always held a very special place in my heart.

I found a lot of success in the game throughout high school, winning almost every meet/tournament I participated in. My successes lead me to compete at the University of Missouri – Kansas City starting in the Fall of 2013. My passion for the game only increased while competing for UMKC. I was given the opportunity to compete at a higher level than ever before. I learned how to overcome failure and how important the process of the game is. I leaned heavily on my hard working spirit and desire to practice. This lead me to some of my greatest achievements: holding the 18 hole school tournament record of 67 on a par 72 course; a bogeyless round of two under par in competition; WAC Player of the Week (twice); WAC All Conference Team; and helped our team to multiple tournament runner up finishes. As I reflect back on my college career, I am most grateful for the many learning experiences and relationships I acquired. And also, the knowledge of what I most need to work on in my game moving forward.

In June 2017, I married my amazing husband, Ian Tucker, who is a graphic and web designer. A few weeks after the wedding we loaded up a U-Haul trailer and pulled it to Scottsdale, Arizona, where we now reside. I believe this area gives me the best opportunity to continue improving my game to the level I desire. My heart has always been very passionate for the game, and I am dedicating all of my time and talents to achieve the lofty goal of playing on the LPGA Tour.

For the 2018 season, I will compete on the Cactus Tour full time, in preparation for Qualifying School which is the stepping stone to the LPGA Tour. This will start in August and continue through the Fall depending on my performance. I will continually have my updated tournament schedule and summaries of my results listed under the Schedule tab.

I hope I can count on you to support me in this journey!
